FBI Denver, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and Colorado Springs Police Department are pleased to announce the formation of the FBI Southern Colorado Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, bringing local and federal investigators together to strengthen efforts to identify victims and hold offenders accountable.
This new task force represents the next chapter in a long-standing partnership built on trust, shared values, and an unwavering dedication to protecting the people of Southern Colorado. The FBI, EPSO, and CSPD have worked shoulder to shoulder through countless cases and crises. Now, we formalize and strengthen that collaboration to confront one of the most urgent challenges of our time: predators who target our children.
Task force members are co-located in FBI space in Colorado Springs, allowing investigators to share intelligence and resources more quickly, coordinate investigations across jurisdictions, and jointly receive specialized training from the FBI. The task force model strengthens collaboration among agencies investigating internet crimes against children and child exploitation and human trafficking throughout southern Colorado.
The creation and co-location of this task force represent a significant step forward in southern Colorado’s coordinated response to child exploitation and human trafficking. By operating as one team from a unified office, participating agencies can combine local knowledge, federal capabilities, specialized training and investigative resources to more effectively protect vulnerable individuals and pursue those who seek to exploit them.
“Establishing the Southern Colorado Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force is a commitment to the families of Southern Colorado: We will not wait for problems to grow. We will be proactive. We will work together. And we will do everything in our power to keep children safe,” said FBI Denver Special Agent in Charge Amanda Koldjeski.

By bringing the FBI, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, and Colorado Springs Police Department together under one roof, we are strengthening our ability to identify victims, disrupt those who prey on them and hold offenders accountable. This task force represents a united front against child exploitation and human trafficking, and a stronger, more coordinated commitment to protecting the people of Southern Colorado.”
