Arrest and Citations Issued Following Targeted Enforcement Operation

On Sunday, September 7, 2025, at approximately 2:35 PM, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Patrol deputies conducted a targeted enforcement operation in the 5400 block of Almont Avenue in unincorporated El Paso County, an area known for criminal activity and narcotics distribution.

During surveillance, deputies observed a gold Honda Pilot leaving the residence. A traffic stop was initiated, and drug paraphernalia was observed in plain sight.

The occupants were identified as 31-year-old Matthias Black, 54-year-old Brian Martinez, and an adult female.

Martinez was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Jail on two outstanding felony warrants for Vehicular Eluding and Domestic Violence–Stalking. He was also charged with Obstruction after initially providing a false name to deputies. He is currently being held without bond.

Black was cited and released for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The female occupant was not charged.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to proactive enforcement operations to combat criminal activity and enhance public safety across the Pikes Peak region.
