Assault Suspect Arrested with Assistance from First Responder Drone and K9 Partner

On March 22, 2026, at approximately 10:15 PM, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Regional Communications Center received information regarding the possible location of a wanted individual. Deputies responded to a residence in the 1200 block of Millbrose in unincorporated El Paso County.

The suspect, 28-year-old Toree Wayne Cole Spikes, had an active warrant for First Degree Assault with a Deadly Weapon related to a March 20 incident in which he is alleged to have assaulted a victim with a fire extinguisher. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Due to information indicating the suspect may be armed, deputies established a perimeter around the property, which included multiple trailers and vehicles. The Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit and drone operators assisted in the search.

Prior to deputies’ arrival, Mr. Spikes fled on foot and was believed to be hiding nearby. A drone operator later located two individuals in a field. Deputies, with assistance from K9 Dex, contacted the individuals, who complied with commands and were taken into custody without incident.

Spikes was booked into the El Paso County Jail on charges of First-Degree Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Harassment and is being held on a $50,000 bond.

The second individual, identified as 34-year-old Kolby Beaver, had an active warrant for Theft and Shoplifting. Beaver was also booked into the El Paso County Jail and is being held on a $2,800 bond.
