El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Patrick Gallagher Named Colorado Police Protective Association Officer of the Year

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce Sergeant Patrick Gallagher has been selected as the 2025 Officer of the Year by the Colorado Police Protective Association (CPPA).

Sergeant Gallagher was formally presented with this prestigious honor on March 18, 2026, recognizing his outstanding service, dedication, and commitment to protecting the citizens of the Pikes Peak region.

“Sergeant Gallagher exemplifies the professionalism, dedication, and integrity which define the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office,” said El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal. “Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a relentless commitment to protecting our community, particularly the most vulnerable among us, children. His work investigating crimes against children, along with his continued dedication to upholding the highest standards within our organization, exemplifies the professionalism and integrity we expect from those who wear this badge. I am proud to congratulate Sergeant Gallagher on this well-deserved recognition.”

Sergeant Gallagher is a 15-year veteran of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office who has served in multiple assignments. He began in the Detentions Bureau before transitioning to Patrol. Gallagher later served in the Special Victims Unit from 2015 to 2022 and spent two years assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, investigating cases involving the exploitation of children and helping bring offenders to justice. Following his promotion to Sergeant, he served as a Patrol Sergeant, then transitioned to the Internal Affairs Section, where he conducts internal investigations to ensure accountability and uphold the integrity of the Sheriff’s Office.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office congratulates Sergeant Patrick Gallagher on this well-deserved recognition and thanks him for his continued commitment to serving our community.
