Community Notification of Sexually Violent Predator

In accordance with Colorado law, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has been notified Steven John Long will be moving into the community and is registered at 534 Loomis Avenue Colorado Springs, Colorado 80906 in the jurisdiction of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office. Steven John Long is a sex offender whose past behavior has led him to be labeled a “Sexually Violent Predator” (SVP) by the State of Colorado. Accordingly, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is notifying the community as required by law and undertaken the following tasks, among others:

  • Notified the Division of Criminal Justice’s Sex Offender Management Board (SOMB) Notification Team.
  • Reviewed and confirmed Steven John Long’s residence, employment, access to vehicles, legal status, and past crimes.
  • Made notifications to neighbors and businesses deemed to be in the immediate area.
  • Briefed patrol personnel on Steven John Long’s status, history, appearance, residence, employment, and vehicles.
  • Notified surrounding law enforcement agencies.
  • Provided an online video which describes the SVP Community Notification process, SVP information, and additional resources for the community.
  • Posted an Online SVP Community Notification video at: www.epcsheriffsoffice.com . Click on Sex Offender Search then click on Sexually Violent Predators.

Steven John Long has complied with his requirement to register with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office will take every reasonable step to ensure Steven John Long complies with his registration terms and fully understands his responsibilities.

Unlawful Sexual Contact, Lewiston, ME.-2010

Indecent Assault and Battery, Child under 14 Haverhill, MA. -2003
