Motor Vehicle Theft Suspect Arrested After Ramming Deputy’s Vehicle

On July 23, 2026, at approximately 11:25 PM, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Patrol deputies located an occupied stolen vehicle near the 600 block of Peterson Road in the Cimarron Hills area of unincorporated El Paso County.

Deputies positioned their patrol vehicles to attempt to prevent the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Zhane Molina, from fleeing. Molina intentionally rammed one of the deputies’ patrol vehicles, causing damage to both vehicles. She then drove recklessly from the scene, and deputies initiated a brief pursuit. Due to the danger posed to the public, the pursuit was terminated.

A short time later, deputies located Molina at another location and took her into custody without incident.

Zhane Molina was booked into the El Paso County Jail on charges of First-Degree Kidnapping, Second-Degree Assault, Vehicular Eluding, Second-Degree Motor Vehicle Theft, Reckless Endangerment, and multiple traffic offenses.

She is currently being held on a $50,400 bond, pursuant to conditions set by the State of Colorado.

“My deputies are working around the clock to make our community safer by proactively patrolling our neighborhoods, protecting victims, and coordinating efforts to safely apprehend violent offenders,” said El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal. “Despite the suspect’s dangerous attempts to evade arrest, deputies remained focused on locating and apprehending this suspect. Their determination removed another violent offender from our streets and made our community safer.”
