Sheriff Joseph Roybal Extends Thanksgiving Message to El Paso County

El Paso County, CO – As families across El Paso County gather to give thanks, El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal and the men and women of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office extend their heartfelt gratitude to the citizens they serve.

“This Thanksgiving, I am especially grateful for the strength and compassion which define our community,” said Sheriff Joseph Roybal. “Every day, our deputies, professional staff, and volunteers witness the best of what it means to live in El Paso County—neighbors helping neighbors, families looking out for one another, and citizens showing gratitude through acts of kindness and service.”

Sheriff Roybal also expressed appreciation to those working through the holiday to keep the community safe. “While many are gathered around the table with loved ones, countless first responders, dispatchers, deputies, and professional personnel remain on duty. Their dedication reflects the heart of public service—putting others first. I also want to recognize the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who are serving far from home this Thanksgiving. Their sacrifice allows us to celebrate in freedom and peace. I am profoundly grateful for their service and for the families who support them.”

The Sheriff encouraged residents to take time to reach out to those who may be spending the holiday alone and to drive safely as travel increases across the region.

“As we reflect on our blessings, may we also remember those facing hardship or loss,” Sheriff Roybal added. “Let this season renew our sense of gratitude, generosity, and unity. From my family and everyone at the Sheriff’s Office, I wish you a safe and peaceful Thanksgiving.”
