Sheriff’s Office Investigating Homicide Following Reported Robbery in Cimarron Hills

On July 7, 2026, at approximately 1:04 AM, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Regional Communications Center received multiple calls reporting a shooting near the 2300 block of Reed Grass Way in the Cimarron Hills area of unincorporated El Paso County.

El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Patrol deputies responded to the area and located an individual suffering from a gunshot wound. At this time, investigators believe this was an isolated incident, and there is no known threat to the community.

The identity of the decedent will be determined and released by the El Paso County Coroner’s Office following notification of next of kin.

This remains an active investigation. Anyone with information related to this incident or who may have video footage from the area is asked to contact the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency line at 719-390-5555.
