Traffic Stop Leads to Arrests and Narcotics Seizure

On October 12, 2025, at approximately 11:30 PM, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Patrol deputies were alerted to a stolen vehicle near B Street and South Academy in unincorporated El Paso County.

Deputies responded to the area and located the vehicle traveling toward B Street from Hampton South.

When deputies attempted a traffic stop on B Street, the vehicle fled northbound at a high rate of speed while driving in the wrong lane. To ensure public safety, deputies did not pursue.

At approximately 11:44 PM, a witness reported a crash at B Street and Highway 85, stating a vehicle had collided with a barrier. Deputies arrived on scene and found the stolen vehicle unoccupied.

Deputies searched the area, and no suspects were located. The vehicle was confirmed stolen by the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD). Inside, deputies located a wallet belonging to a victim of a separate criminal trespass incident reported to CSPD.

Both the stolen vehicle and the wallet were returned to their rightful owners.

El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal stated, “Our deputies continue to demonstrate sound judgment and restraint in rapidly evolving situations. By focusing on public safety, they prevented further danger to our community while still ensuring the recovery of stolen property.”
