Sheriff’s Office Participates in National Night Out Events Across El Paso County

During the week of August 5, 2025, law enforcement agencies across the nation—including the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office—will participate in National Night Out, a celebrated annual community-building campaign which aims to strengthen police-community partnerships and foster neighborhood camaraderie to make communities safer and more welcoming.

Throughout El Paso County, residents will host block parties, cookouts, and a wide range of community events featuring safety demonstrations, educational seminars, youth activities, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits, and more. These events provide a vital platform for law enforcement and residents to engage in meaningful conversations, strengthen relationships, and work together to reduce crime and enhance public safety.

On Tuesday, August 5th, the El Paso County Board of Commissioners formally recognized the importance of the initiative by reading a proclamation honoring National Night Out. Community members also spoke during the session, sharing personal stories and emphasizing the value these events bring to their neighborhoods.

Sheriff Joseph Roybal and a dedicated team from the Sheriff’s Office—including sworn deputies, professional staff, volunteers, and members of the Sheriff’s Posse—will attend ten events in neighborhoods across unincorporated El Paso County, including Monument, Midway, Peyton, Falcon, Black Forest, and several others.

In a statement, Sheriff Roybal shared:

“Celebrating National Night Out is an occasion we look forward to at the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office. These events represent an opportunity to build on what members of my Office focus on year-round: establishing positive relationships with the citizens we serve and working together to eliminate crime and reduce victimization.

“National Night Out helps us grow meaningful relationships with families and businesses across El Paso County. I thank the various neighborhood watch groups who graciously host my Office for this event and for working year-round on projects and educational events, helping keep El Paso County safe and a desirable place to live.

“I speak for my entire Office when I say we are grateful for and love the community we serve. National Night Out continues to be a powerful reminder of the strength and unity which comes from law enforcement and community members working side by side.”
