Investigators Seek Community Assistance in Reed Grass Way Homicide Investigation

On July 7, 2026, at approximately 1:04 AM, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Regional Communications Center received several reports of a shooting near the 2300 block of Reed Grass Way in the Cimarron Hills area of unincorporated El Paso County.

Patrol deputies were dispatched to the location and found an individual suffering from a gunshot wound. Deputies immediately initiated life‑saving measures until personnel from the Falcon Fire Protection District arrived and continued medical treatment. Despite these efforts, the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.

On July 13, 2026, the El Paso County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as 39‑year‑old Michael Fell. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office extends its deepest sympathy to his family during this difficult time.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance from residents in the areas of Reed Grass Way, Green Grass Court, and Hannah Ridge Drive who may have surveillance or Ring video captured between 12:30 AM and 1:30 AM on the morning of the incident.
