Bernice Moorehead Missing Person Case Update

Today, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office conducted a coordinated search along Fountain Creek adjacent to the area of Pinello Ranch in unincorporated El Paso County in connection with the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Bernice Moorehead, who was reported missing on October 17, 2024.

The search involved members of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Mounted Unit, Detectives and El Paso County Search and Rescue. This effort was initiated after personal belongings believed to be Ms. Moorehead’s were recently located in the area.

During the search, skeletal remains were found along the creek, just north of Pinello Ranch. Based on additional evidence at the scene, the remains are believed to be those of Bernice Moorehead. However, official identification, along with the cause and manner of death, will be determined by the El Paso County Coroner’s Office.

We have been in contact with Ms. Moorehead’s family during this difficult time and wish to extend our heartfelt condolences.
