El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Deputy to Compete for National Title of Ms. United States

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office proudly announces Deputy Hannah Unitis will represent the State of Colorado as Ms. Colorado United States in the upcoming Ms. United States National Pageant, to be held November 1–4, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Deputy Unitis earned the state title in June 2025, demonstrating excellence in both public service and community engagement. She embodies leadership, professionalism, and compassion through her work with the Sheriff’s Office and her commitment to serving others. Her selection as Ms. Colorado United States highlights her passion for empowering others, fostering civic involvement, and serving as a role model for women in law enforcement.

“It is an honor to represent Colorado and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office on a national stage,” said Deputy Hannah Unitis. “When I began my law enforcement career, my goal was to make a difference—to help people through their hardest moments and show strength paired with empathy. Competing in Ms. United States gives me the opportunity to share this message with an even larger audience. I want young women, especially those considering careers in public service, to see they can wear the badge with pride, grace, and confidence. We can be both strong and compassionate, and through this balance, we can inspire others to serve their communities with purpose.”

El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal praised Deputy Unitis’s accomplishments, stating:

“Deputy Unitis represents the very best of our agency. She brings professionalism, heart, and courage to every aspect of her work—whether serving our citizens or representing Colorado on a national platform. Her leadership and dedication reflect the core values of our Office: integrity, service, and excellence. What makes her success especially meaningful is the example she sets for others in law enforcement and beyond—reminding us public servants can lead through their actions in uniform and through their advocacy, engagement, and positive influence in the community. We could not be prouder to have her as part of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office family.”

Deputy Unitis has served with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office since February 2022 and is currently assigned to the Detention Bureau, working in Court Services. She is a valued member of the Peer Support Team and was recently recognized as Deputy of the Month by the Colorado Springs East Rotary Club.

The Ms. United States Pageant is a longstanding tradition celebrating women who embody leadership, intelligence, and community spirit. Contestants from across the nation will compete for the crown, showcasing their service, accomplishments, and advocacy platforms.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office encourages the community to cheer on Deputy Unitis as she proudly represents Colorado and our Office on this distinguished national stage.
