Sheriff’s Office Launches New Website, Ensuring Streamlined Access to Information and ADA Compliance

Recently, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office launched a new official website designed to better serve and accommodate the citizens of the Pikes Peak region.

The new website features updated content, streamlined access to information and services, and compatibilities to ensure compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.

During the development of the new website, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office partnered with The Independence Center. This local nonprofit organization helps people with disabilities create independence by leveraging their unique abilities. The Independence Center reviewed the new website before its launch and provided feedback on its ease of use and accessibility for individuals with disabilities.

“I am excited to announce the launch of our new website, which will better serve our community,” said El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal. “The new website makes it easy for users to learn about our Office, look up information about individuals in our custody, and stay informed about crime trends, emergency messaging, and community outreach.

“I would like to thank our partners at The Independence Center and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Information Technology and Community Affairs Units for their hard work and diligence, which ensured the smooth implementation, preservation of information, and, most importantly, ease of use for all citizens, including those with disabilities. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is committed to ensuring our community has access to our services and transparency in our actions.”

“We’re proud to have partnered with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office to support their commitment to accessibility,” said Indy Frazee, CEO of The Independence Center. “Ensuring their website meets ADA standards and is navigable for individuals with disabilities reflects a shared dedication to inclusion and equity.

“At The IC, our mission is to ensure everyone in the Pikes Peak region, regardless of ability, can access the information and resources they need. We’re grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with the Sheriff’s Office in advancing this goal.”
