Loomis Avenue Homicide Suspect Arrested, Charged

On October 31, 2025, at approximately 2:54 p.m., the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Regional Communications Center received a call requesting a medical response to a residence in the 4000 block of Loomis Avenue, located in unincorporated El Paso County.

When medical personnel from the Stratmoor Hills Fire Department arrived, they located a deceased adult female and believed the death appeared suspicious; they immediately requested a response from law enforcement.

Deputies arrived shortly and requested the investigations division to respond.

The El Paso County Coroner’s Office has since identified the victim as 38-year-old Yetzabel Quinones. The Coroner’s Office will release the official cause and manner of death at a later time.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office extends its deepest condolences to Ms. Quinones’s family and friends.

On November 11, 2025, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for 32-year-old Cameron Burton for First-Degree Murder, Aggravated Robbery, and First-Degree Burglary.

Burton was taken into custody by the Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team in the 4200 block of Loomis Avenue.  He is currently being held in the El Paso County Jail without bond.

This was an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
