Deputies Locate and Arrest Suspect Following Domestic Violence Assault and Vehicle Eluding

On July 14, 2026, at approximately 2:41 AM, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Regional Communications Center received a 911 call. The reporting party stated a person known to them had thrown a television, striking them in the face and leg.

Deputies responded to a residence in the 11000 block of Bossett Drive in the Falcon Meadows area of eastern unincorporated El Paso County. The suspect, 35-year-old Mason Buck, had fled the residence in a gray Subaru Outback.

Deputies in the area located the suspect’s vehicle near the intersection of Woodmen Road and Golden Sage Road and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. Buck failed to yield, turned the vehicle around, and fled eastbound on Woodmen Road. Deputies did not pursue for safety reasons.

The victim was treated at the scene by medical personnel from the Falcon Fire Department.

A few minutes later, the Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call. The reporting party stated the suspect had been involved in a motor vehicle crash near the intersection of Lambert Road and Park Gate Drive.

Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office and troopers with the Colorado State Patrol responded to the reported crash location.

While en route, the Colorado Department of Corrections (DOC) contacted the Regional Communications Center and advised Buck was wearing a GPS ankle monitor. DOC personnel were actively tracking his location in a field east of the intersection of Eatonville Road and Rex Road.

When deputies and troopers arrived in the area, Buck fled again, driving eastbound through the field toward Highway 24.

Our partners at the Department of Corrections continued providing real-time location updates and advised Buck had crossed Highway 24, turned south onto Scott Road, and continued south onto McKissick Road.

Deputies located the suspect and used their vehicles to block access to Spencer Road. Buck attempted to drive past the blockade but slid off the road into a ditch. His vehicle came to a stop, and deputies drew their weapons and issued commands for Buck to exit the vehicle. As additional deputies and troopers arrived on scene, Buck exited the vehicle and was taken into custody without further incident.

Medical personnel from the Falcon Fire Department responded to the area and evaluated Buck. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital for medical clearance.

After hospital staff cleared him, Buck was transported to the El Paso County Jail, where he was booked on the following charges:

  • Second Degree Assault
  • Vehicular Eluding
  • Criminal Mischief
  • Child Abuse
  • Second Degree Criminal Tampering
  • Violation of a Restraining Order

He is currently being held without bond.

“Domestic violence incidents can escalate quickly and often place victims, responding deputies, and the public at significant risk,” said El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal.  “My deputies remained focused on protecting the community while working alongside our public safety partners to bring this incident to a safe conclusion. I want to thank the Colorado Department of Corrections, the Colorado State Patrol, and Falcon Fire Department for their outstanding teamwork throughout this response. Every time we remove a dangerous, prolific offender from our community and return them to custody, our community is safer. This arrest reflects our commitment to holding violent offenders accountable and protecting the people of El Paso County.”
