El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Celebrates “Topping” Ceremony for Future Falcon Substation

Friday, El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal joined deputies, professional staff, volunteers, and county partners to celebrate a major construction milestone for the future El Paso County Sheriff’s Office substation in Falcon, Colorado.

The “Topping” ceremony is a landmark event marking a major landmark in the construction of the future El Paso County Sheriff’s Office substation.

“This project represents years of planning and a strong commitment to keeping pace with the growth of our community,” said El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal. “This substation will strengthen our ability to serve residents, reduce victimization, and ensure deputies have the resources needed to protect one of the fastest-growing areas of El Paso County. We can’t wait to open the doors in Fall 2026 and celebrate this milestone with the citizens of El Paso County.”

Stakeholders were invited to sign the final structural truss before it was permanently installed, leaving a lasting mark on a facility which will serve the community for generations.

Scheduled for completion in Fall 2026, the substation will be the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office’s first-ever full-service, stand-alone substation. The facility will expand the Office’s presence in northern and eastern El Paso County, support proactive patrol operations, increase visibility in unincorporated areas, and enhance collaboration with public safety partners as the region continues to grow.

Located at 12062 Royal County Downs Road, adjacent to Falcon Fire Protection District Station 1, the substation reflects years of planning and partnership and is part of the Sheriff’s Office’s long-term strategy to reduce victimization, hold offenders accountable, and ensure high-quality service for residents, businesses, and visitors throughout the Pikes Peak region.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office thanks the Board of County Commissioners, Falcon Fire Protection District, D2C Architects, Buildings by Design, L.L.C., and all partners and team members who are bringing this project from vision to reality.
